Pocket sliding doors are doors that disappear into a special cassette pocket situated within a wall's cavity and are a fantastic solution for situations where space is limited. Making the most of available room space can often be top priority for many homeowners, thus pocket doors are a hugely popular choice for smaller homes.
Here at DirectDoors.com we have a great selection of pocket door systems that include: Single, Double, Glass, Fire Door, Telescopic and Unilateral pocket doors. All of our Pocket Door Systems are compatible with a wide range of door styles such as Flush, Panelled, Glazed and Coloured, ensuring that great choice and options are always available to our customers.
Due to the nature of pocket doors sliding straight into a preformed wall cavity (within which the steel cassette is situated) there is a requirement for Pocket Door Jamb Kits to provide a professional finish to the installation. Simply put, the jamb kit is a timber lining kit which - when attached to the framework of the pocket door - will cover the edges of the door when it is closed and prevent viewers from being able to see the door-top and inside of the pocket. The resulting finish adds to the stylish aesthetics of a pocket door system, resulting in an elegant and streamlined appearance.
The components of the door jamb kits are as follows:
- A - Top horizontal header pieces, supplied as one length, to be cut into two as required
- B - 2x pocket entrance verticals (one for each side of the pocket entrance)
- C - 1x recessed doorpost (supplied only for the single door system)
- Plus brushes and rubber bumpers
The door jamb kits we supply are made from unfinished finger jointed fir or finger jointed fir with a thin cherry walnut veneer and are paint or stain ready.
